About
Interstella is a four piece original band from Townsville formed in 2006.
It consists of Davey P. (drums), Simon Baird (bass), John Nesirky (electric gtr & vox) & Nick Matthews (electric & acoustic gtrs, tenor sax & vox).
John writes most of the originals for the band, composing at an alarming rate. His pop/rock sound creates a easy listening framework for the band to round off his unique creations.
Nick brings rock & acoustic/funk guitar & sax sounds to the constellation. Having a diverse sound helps keep the band sounding fresh and breaks up the “duelling axes syndrome”. He also brings some of his originals in to add to the flavour.
Searching for Uranus
Davey provides the foundation on the kit and complements the sound beautifully with his dynamics and presence. Davey & John have played together in previous the precursor band Pod.
Simon is the newest to the Interstella group but has slipped in effortlessly and gives it a big fat fluid bass feel.
